In the 1980s Shiraishi participated the theatrical companies, performance artists, butoh dancers, and various musicians in Japan. Shiraishi spent the 1990s living and performing in both Tokyo and New York City, where he performed in public. Since then, he has continued performing with numerous collaborators and maintains an ongoing series of performances in NYC subway stations.
