Word Bites Picture is an ongoing project by Friend & Colleague, launched at the
Storefront For Art & Architecture in 2013. Contemporary artists are asked to submit
an artwork of their choice, without comment or background story. In response to
the artwork, Katya Tylevich writes a 500-word fiction. The ‘didactic’ of each work
is therefore an abstraction, related in atmosphere and tone. Participating artists:
Dewey Ambrosino, Edgar Arceneaux, Michaël Borremans, Espen Dietrichson, Anton
Ginzburg, Carl Hammoud, Todd Hido, Richard Misrach, Mi-Zo, and Dasha Shishkin.
Previous participants include Vito Acconci and Otmar Thormann.
